The book is an analysis of the essay with regard to its contents, genre, and the poetic depiction of the subject. It examines essays by the greatest Hebrew writers: H.N. Bialik, Mendele Mocher Seforim, Jacob Steinberg, Y.H. Brenner, Gershon Shofman, Y.D. Berkowitz and others.
